I bought a used Sport Trac last month. It is a 2002 with 65K on a 4.0L.
A couple days after I bought it I went to start it and it would not fire, just crank. After a few tries it fired up, but ran horrible. It bucked, and coughed until I gave it gas and then it was fine.
It only happened that one time... until today.
I get a call from the wife, it won't start. She's stuck at work. She's tried 6 times to get it started and then called me. As she was on the phone with me she tried again and it started but was "running funny" I told her to give it gas, she did, and it was fine...
What the heck!?
I don't feel safe letting her drive it.
