so i have the chance to pick up a 93-94 explorer 2WD with a manual tranny for 400 bucks with 85k on it.. my intention is to do a 4.0 swap in my 96 splash that currently has the 2.3 in it.. i was planning on pulling the motor/tranny from the explorer an using the tranny an BLOCK from the explorer. i can get the upper intake an pretty much everything else i need from a buddy that had a 96. this includes the upper intake, manifolds, wiring harness computer, everything but an egr an coil pack. i have a coil pack from a 03 3.0 ranger iam not sure if it will work or not. but more or less am i going to have any problems running the 93-94 block with 96 parts? what are the advantages/disadvantages? anything to watch out for/stay away?
