4.0 swap for friend

Greetings, I am trying to help out a friend who threw the timing chain and exploded their 4.0 SOHC 2000 explorer with a swap. I am usually not a ford guy but trying to help out a friend in dire financial trouble. If I swap out a 4.0 with the same year explorer or an 01, do I have to worry about an ECM swap or resetting the ignition key code at the dealer? Any help is appreciated by myself and him. Thanks.

IF it is the same year all should be Good to go and a direct swap.
