My credo
Build it, Break it, Re-build it stronger.
I have a 1990 XLT 2wd ranger, I am putting a 3inch body life and 4inch suspension lift to clear the tires and get more ground clearance, my question is I heard that if i put 15x10 inch wheels on my truck it will put more strain on my wheel bearings, so is that true and what would you recommend? I am also going to put 31x11.50 inch tires on the wheels.

the title says 31x11.50x14 wheels I meant 31x11.50x15 wheels.

they do add some stress, i just make sure i do them right the first time, and keep a eye on them, after owning so many u just know the sound they make when a wheel bearing needs attention

I doubt yo can find common 11.50's I would stick with an 8 inch wheel and 10.50's if you do get a 10 inch wheel do a 12.50 tire. but 15x8 and 31x10.50x15 is my recommendation

I 2nd this, i have Swamper Ltb's 31x11.5x16's and i have to say the 11.5's are kind of a rare bird. If you stick to a 15x8 rim and a 31x10.5 tire, there are a ridiculous amount of options open for you. :icon_thumby: However, if you do go with 11.5's (or already own them) still stick with the 15x8's.

Stick with 15x8s for 11.50s. They'll also hold the bead better if/when you air down.

So if i stick with 31x10.50 tires on 15x8 wheels would it also put extra strain on my wheel bearing if i put 1.5 inch spacers on the tires?

For 10.50s I prefer 7" wide wheels. Anytime you use spacers or reduce backspace you put more stress on the wheelbearings, whether this makes a big difference depends how far you want to go.

would a inch and half add a lot of stress do you think?
