I have a 22 ranger with the tremor package. It’s a great truck and I love it. Here recently though I’ve been having issues with my transmission not catching gears. The other day I was at a stop light after being on the highway and when I pressed the accelerator then it started decelerating. Then kicked back very aggressively and literally whipped my neck. It’s been doing this often. I generally start it to get the engine warm and wait to get moving. But even when it idles it still does this. Is this normal? I have 44k miles on it and have never had this bad of a problem. It’s been getting worse and more frequent and I’m really not sure what to do. In the process of getting an extended warranty as well

Sounds like a problem to me. Would be great to have it fixed under warranty.

With 44k miles... take it to the dealer.

What's the powertrain warranty?

Ive read that if it searching and lunging you can change this sensor on the back right hand side.

But like said above. If under warranty id make Ford fix it.

That is not normal. You have a warranty you paid for when you bought the vehicle. Use it. Getting the extended warranty isn't a horrible idea but the powertrain warranty covers the transmission.
