TL;DR: 2008 extended needs seats, only able to find 2010 & '11 (both from extended). Go? No-go? What problems/issues/incompatibilities should I expect, and are they fixable, and if so, how?
More info in case it helps:
Howdy Rangerinos!
Our 2008 extended cab has no seats. No tracks, no nothin', just 4 empty bolt holes in the floor. Haven't been able to find any decent '04-'09 seats anywhere around here (lol now I understand why the seats were taken out of ours!). This week I've located some 2010 and 2011 extended cab seats in nice shape. I've done a lot of forum and internet searching and reading. I hear tell of seatbelt pre-tensioners, a possible differing seatbelt attachment on the 2010, and side air bags in 2010-11, but I haven't found enough info to know if those bugaboos exist, nor anything definitive re whether or not any of them are a pain or will make the smog inspector fail the truck etc.. And for all I know there's other potential incompatibilities and/or dealbreaekers I haven't heard tell of (yet). The 2010 & 2011 seats I've found are a good distance from home, but totally worth the drive if they'll work flawlessly.
So..... Will they work flawlessly?
And..... What problems/issues/incompatibilities should I expect? And if any problems/issues/incompatibilities, are they surmountable with little or no pain? (because I just don't have what it takes to do much more than minor no-brainer wrench-twisting nowadays) And if easily surmountable, how?
Thanks in advance for your help and wisdom.

PS, re seats in general, I have a ¾-baked idea to build out a chart that will make it super quick and easy to know which seats you can install in which year model without having to jump through hoops. And in cases where there are hoops or watch-outs, I think chart will give a clear indication of what the potential downside is. But that's a topic for another thread, stay tuned.
