2004 Ranger..a new problem to me!!!

Here is what I have. I cannot find anything on this even on FMCdealer.com. Today the truck, only when overdrive is on, would thud when at a neutral throttle position. It's as if the OD is engaging and disengaging rapidly and harshly. This only happens when the OD is active and in range to operate. It has happened happened all the way up to 65 mph so far. That's the fastest I got to with the snow here.

2004 Ranger XLT Ext Cab 4x4
4.0L 5r55e trans. 4.10 axles

No mods to anything, not even a t-bar crack.

What could this be?

Post this in the Transmission forums.... you'd be more likely to get good responses.

Just tryin to point you in the right direction, you wont find most of the tranny experts floatin in the 4.0 forums
