2.9 heads on 2.8 shortblock

I have an 84 Bronco II with a 2.8 that has a cracked head. Will 2.9 heads work alright or are there problems with the water passages, intake, etc? Just checking to see what my junk yard/after market options are for this short block . . .

The heads will not interchange, since the 2.9 has the center ports on ech side "swapped": intake and exhuast are switched with each other, compared to the 2.8
