1983 Ford Ranger Engine switch

Hello,
I am thinking about changing engines from a 1983 Ford Ranger 2wd that has a 2.0 4 cyl. with 4 spd tranny. Putting it In to a 1983 Ford Ranger 4 WD that has a 2.8 v6 with a 4 speed with over drive manual tranny. Can I use the same bell housing?

no....the 2.8 has the same bell housing a 2.9-4.0 ohv or 4.0 sohc... i think the 2.0 has the same as the 2.3 and 2.5 lima engines..... i think i may be wrong

The bell housing from a 2.0 and 2.3 is different from a 2.8.
