i cant figure out what the hell is going on. every so often i get engine noise coming out of my speakers and its driving me nuts, anybody have any ideas as to what i can do to fix it.

the P.O.S tranny in my truck has been replaced 5 times and still gives me shit. how hard is it to swap out the auto for a manual. the current tranny is a 4r44e.
