installing 4.88's and wanted to know what I should do for the rear (8.8)Whats your opinion....should I notch the cross pin or the ring gear?

notched cross pins are $HIT, they suck and are known to break. Use your stock cross pin, and just shave a little off the ring gear, you dont have to remove much. Install your ring gear, and you will see exactly how little youll need to remove to be able to slide it in. I used a 4.5 " grinder

agreed. I shaved the ring gear a tiny bit to fit the 5.13's in my 8.8 then the stock crosspin slides right in.
