Is My '99 Ranger Lifted?

I bought it a few weeks ago. Some people are saying it looks like it has a 3inch body lift. That's what I'm thinking too, but I just want to make sure. Also, I want to get a lift kit, maybe 3inch, but I'm having some trouble finding some for a decent price. Someone help me out. Please.

No, it's not.

There's only one option really: superlift. or a used rcd but superlift is a more likely option.

If there was a pic directly from the back it would be easier to tell about the bl... but I don't see enough frame so I'm gonna say no you don't have one. You just have the stock too small tires.

Most people run both and run 35's on their 98+ rangers.

My 98 fits 31's stock. It needed the slightest torsion bar crank to make it half-ass level though. I also have the factory lift blocks on the back.

It's a 4x4 right? You can fit 31's stock. 265/75/16's are a common size for our trucks... which is about a 32" tire. With a 3" bl you can clear 33's.

you can clear 33s with a mild tbar crank and the right after market wheels.

It doesn't have a 3" BL. Or else you'd see a gap between the bed and frame, and some very tall looking body bushings. (Unless there's an aftermarket gap guard) Measure your body mount bushings to see.

Don't waste your time on a SLA lift kit unless you're going long travel.

A guy I knew in high school had a 03 with a suspension lift. (I'm not sure the lift measurement but he was on 35s) After he dropped 2500 on the kit, got a new drive shaft for the front, bought some shiney rims and "agressive" looking A/T tires. After he blew all that money he didn't want to take her off road.

I dropped around 2500 bucks into my 2000. But that ended up with a solid axle swap, back half, bumpers, flat bed, sliders, and a V8 swap. I play with my truck.


Crank your torsion bars, take a weekend and throw on a body lift, loose the sway bars, ditch the rear block for a long ass shackle or the common 63" Chebby leaf swap, run some 35x12.5s on some aftermarket rims with lots of back spacing, dish out for some deep ass gears, weld the rear spider gears, swap on manual lock outs, maybe squeeze in a manual T case.

It'd be a mean machine and could be done on the cheap. Very cheap.

Don't build it till you've outwheeled it's current design. Or just to make it look cool cause only tools lift trucks for looks.

Oh and just fyi:

3" BL, t bar crank, 33x12.5 procomp ats on 15x10" rims with un remembered BS:

3" BL, t bar crank, 35x15.5r15 superswamper TSLs.

thats so dumb because i can build brackets and all the lift parts for about 100 bucks at my old mans steel shop and then all id have to do is buy the shocks but i guess they need to make money.......lots of it i guess haha

You don't need to buy new shocks just for a body lift...
