Dang! Love that truck. I had a '53 back when I was 16. Sold it though... still not sure why. I guess 'cause I was a broke high school student, and didn't have the proper funds to put into it.

The guy who built it told me it was put on a 69 GMC 3/4 ton frame.

It's an original 53 plate from Hopkins county Kentucky. That's where the truck came from. The only difference is the guy who built it painted the plate the same color as the truck and did white lettering. The KY plates where black in 53.

In NC, you can run older plates on older cars. My buddy has a 47 NC plate on his 47 Chevy. If he gets pulled over or something he has a hidden plate that flips out under the car that's his actual license plate.
