Any running the newer Mud tires, KM2s ?

Opinions on performance where ever you run them ?
How's the ride on the street and in the snow ?

Thinking of running the 285x75R16s on Chamber 16x8 Rims, but with a BS of <4".
RCD Lift calls for <4" BS, have an e-mail in to RCD asking about 4.5 BS, time will tell.

Thanks

Excellent tire. I had KM's and my buddy has KM2s. Wasn't sure about them since I was a die hard KM fan, but these tires are the real deal from everything I've seen, on road they are slightly quieter than KMs and do a little better in snow. I've really been impressed with the treadwear too as hard as he's been beating them. That will probably be my next tire.

I plan on buying some this week

do you know if parts for the older Fx4's will fit an 08. it has the 4.0 engine. i'm havin a hard time finding parts for 08's

What kind of parts, i have 08 mirrors (is a trick), 08 grill and tail lights, and hitch

steelmaniacwi & suzuki14258,
This is a Thread about BFG KM2 not PARTS !
Please make a new thread about interchangeability and delete your posts.
Thanks.

Anyone else have the KM2 MTs ?
I wanted to buy a set of the 285/75R16 but all I can locate is the "E" Rated Tires that I think are 6 ply, WAY too stiff I think.

285/75R16 is what i bought for mine, the side wall is 3 ply thats all im for sure about on that.

suzuki14258,
Thanks for that.
If possible, will you check to see what the class of tire is, C, D, or E.

Thanks,

The class is a e, i will try and put some pics up tonight.

i remember when the letters really meant the number of plies the tires had.

now they rate them by the weight they will carry no matter how many actual plies the tires have. guess it depends on the compounds they are using in the sidewalls/treads.

i am currently running a set of "E" rated Michelin casings on my 1991 Geo Tracker! my whole truck weighs less than the rating for just one of those tires. they flex quite a bit, no way are they actually 10 plies.

me too

I believe "E" is a 6 ply tire but I have been wrong before and it will not be the last time.

strvger, how the ride ?
Do you think harder aftr the tire or did it ride better before the tires ?

'C' used to be 6 ply, 'D' 8 ply, and 'E' were the 10 ply tires. now it seems as though they are all 3 ply sidewalls. i do have 5 plies in the tread area.
the ride is nice and firm at about 28# psi, just the way i like it. of course i do have stronger coils in the lift, but even with the front sway bar removed, my handling is much improved. if things get too bouncy, i just lower the air pressure down closer to 22-24# psi.

those are nice tires but better on a full size. even when aired down you wont get much flex out of the side walls the rangers just arnt heavy enough

i run them on my f-250, they kick ass! for being such a heavy truck, i can say they are the tire for mud considering i've never gotten stuck with them and i was pretty caught up in the bush 4 wheeling the diesel last weekend lol.

Does anyone know if the KM2 tires are made in a lower ply rating ?
4 or 6 ply would be nice.

The heavy ply rating is why I may go to the Mickey T's MTZ Tire instead.

Thanks,
