Best mud terrain tires?

Oh, and for whoever suggested retreads, i wouldnt run them on a tractor much less a truck. 10,000 miles if your lucky.

You're totally wrong here. I ran a set of TW retreads for a couple of years. They were the best tire I've ever had on my truck, and lasted as long as a new tire. When I upgraded to 35s, I would have preferred to run retreads, but they were out of stock for that size.

Many others on this forum have run Treadwrights and love them. The tires have had excellent reviews from many offroad mags.

I don't know where you got your 10,000 number from. Either you bought a set of retreads back in to 70s, had your tires inflated incorrectly, or were way out of alignment. :dunno:

The amount of weight it takes to balance a tire is also related to the balance of the rim it's getting mounted on. Years ago I worked at a tire shop as a tire monkey, and there were a couple times we were unable to get new tires balanced due to bent rims.

Goodyear MTR's, I'm running them on my exploder and they're awesome. I also have LTB's, but haven't really had a chance to evaluate them properly.

i went with the yokohama geolander M/T's. f'n unreal awesome in the mud and on rocks. real tuff and on there second year as daily drivers. almost to much traction tho for the d28. i brake axles all the time.

I just put Goodyear MTR's on the back and I love them so far (I used to have Super Swamper TSL's)

i have the maxxis bighorns. very capable tire. don't howl very much on my b2 and they are about half worn after about 20,000 miles

I LOVE my Toyo's....

Good luck if they last past 15K though, they wear out soooo quickly, we sell them at our shop and they are very popular but people ended up complaining that they were wearing really quickly, my friend spent like 2000 on some 35x12.50R18's and wore them out before summer was over with only like 13,000 miles. Maybe we just get bad ones though seeing as we are the end of the road for receiving tires.

bogger 31x12.50r15

Not if he is gonna drive them on the road. But those will be my next set for mud tires.

I really like my mickey thompson MTZs Ive found them to be good on everything from rocks and mud to snow and ice

Those are what I have and can't complain so far, they have excellent grip all around, not so good in thick muck, but they are similar to the SS TRXxUS or whatever with bigger lugs. They also do really well in the sand as well.

Best Mud tire by far!

The Dunlop Mud Rover is an excellent mud tire. They are also very good in deep snow. I have had several sets on my 72 Bronco and was in snow so deep that my engine bay was packed and made my belts start slipping! I have also had them in some nasty ass gumbo mud and they pulled me right through no problem! They are almost identical to BFG M/T tires but for some reason, they get you through the tough stuff better. They are also six ply and last forever.

wasnt the rims they were brand new, plus i checked them before the tires were mounted

i've had a set of mud kings for 4 years and they still have good tread left and dig good.

the key to making the toyo mt's to last is rotating them. my first set barely lasted a year on my tow rig so now i rotate them at every oil change and there doing much better

I've had extremely good luck with Super Swamer TSL radials, I've run them on 3 different vehicles, 33" & 36" sizes. I've also run BFG MT's and AT's. The TSL Radials outperform the BFG's in every terrain I've used them in. The only down side is the risk of sidewall puncture (happend to me once on a 36")

the new bfg km2 is awesome quiet on the road and is very agressive in the mud.great tire!

My brother ran Yoko's and never had any problems with them. Now he has Maxxis Big Horns and seem to be doing good too. Here they are on my truck. 33x12.50
