Anyone ever used Sea Foam?

I went to the local parts store the other day and picked up a can of Sea Foam....I put it through the engine the way the parts guy said....not through the fuel tank...He told me it would smoke like heck and spit and sputter for a few mins, but the end results would be amazing....I have to agree...maybe its my wishful thinking, but the little 2.9 ran alot better, smoother, and quieter afterwards....Has anyone else tried it?

Sea foam I call it e-check in a can! Gives what I call the smoke show just awesome

seafoam can do wonders for an old carboned-up engine. it really makes a difference.

you dont need to run it very often if you dont drive like a grandma (my engines all see 4 grand at least once a day to keep the carbon down). i run it maybe once a year if i think about it.

it does a pretty good job when run through the fuel tnak too

I had never heard of sea foam until a few weeks ago, I am glad I tried it....my BII is running alot better with it!

Ive heard about seafoam like maybe 2 weeks ago and i watched a couple of videos on youtube of people using it. But I wasnt sure if id trust it or not the more I read up on it the more I think about trying it. From what ive seen when you use it the motor smokes like a SOB how long does that last for? what way would yous recommend doing it through the fuel take or just doing it through the intake?

i do it through both.

the smoke lasts a few minutes.

I would do it through the intake....It smokes pretty bad while you are actually doing it, but after you let the engine sit for about 5 minutes, and you re-start it, the smoke only last for around 15 mins or so.....But trust me, you can reallt tell a difference immediately! you will be impressed.

i usually put 1/3 of the can in the oil the day before my oil change. i run 1/3 through the intake right before i change the oil. then i dump the last 1/3 in the gas tank.

ok so in the old carb days we use to pour a quart of mystery oil in, talk about smoke! I wonder how similar it is? I still throw it into the gas every now and again... haven't figured out how to put it in now thru the tbi!

Seafoam

I was first told about Seafoam from a guy who fishes commercially in Alaska. He dumps it in his fuel to disperse water and help kelp from jelling up.
I disconnect my vacuum linr from my brake booster and slowly pour about half a can in, shut down and wait 5 mins or so. The other half in the tank. This is definately a "do outdoors" show...

i always put about 2/3 of the can through one of the vaccum lines, usually for the brakes. never been dissapointed.

Is there any performance to be gained by putting it in an engine that runs fine? I'd like to make sure the system is clean, but I've heard that older engines can lose compression, and so I want to make sure it's worth the risk.
