need a little more power

hey one thing you could do is reroute your air conditioner vents to your air intake, so you really have a cold air intake!

for you all wondering this is just :bsflag:

Actually I think that would seriously work.

Wouldn't have A/C in the summer but you could re-route some exhaust to the cab for heat in the winter just make sure it goes through a K&N before reaching the cab, those catch everything.

:icon_rofl:

Sure, try it.

I'm sure that was a joke. It must be. There is now way anyone could take that seriously right? That's the way I took it.

thanks for the help and all the:icon_rofl: i think ill put in some 1.7 and port a spare set of heads is there an years for heads that are better than others?? fast burn heads or???

the flex fuel 3.0 uses combustion chambers that are the tiniest amount smaller...i doubt you would gain any reasonable amount of power from them...but if they are available, it couldnt hurt to use them.

if your only planning on a P&P and roller rockers, your missing out on the biggest gains to be had. the tuner, gearing, headers, and underdrive pullies that i mentioned will all give larger boosts in themselves than the P&P and rockers will together....and none of those require opening the engine up.

i might do headers what do they run im kind on a got very little money to spend i can do a set of heads for very little rocker will take some time to get them.

a GOOD set of headers will run upwards of $7-800. dont skimp on headers or it will cost more in the long run.

cheap power=underdrive pullies followed by programmer.

I guess I just don't see the point. Spending $700+ for 10-20 hp? Buy a bike or a quicker car for when you want to bump the pace up a bit.

I'm not against engine modifications, but this just seems like an insane amount of money to spend for relatively small gains. If we were talking about a 2.3T swap or something like that, it would be different.

you gotta pay to play. going fast isnt cheap no matter how you slice it. there are cheaper ways...but a modified 3.0 also has the uniquness factor. and its probably still less work to bolt all this crap onto a 3.0 than it is to do a 2.3 swap :dunno:

I understand about paying to play, but I'm also about performance/fun factor for the dollar. As an example, my Rebel 250 is about as slow as bikes get, but it's still as fast to 50 or so as any stock Ranger, but gets 80mpg. And part of the fun of all this is in the work involved - I'd derive a lot more satisfaction from an engine swap than bolting on a set of headers.

to each his own i guess. i get the same semi-stiffey from bolting on some headers as i do from transplanting a motor :icon_rofl:

A fresh fuel filter can do wonders for a power complaint.

i have a fast car 82 mustang with a 351 and a nice driver for the summer 06 mustang v6 5 speed this is just a winter truck ant to move the 4 wheeler around im not going to spend 700 on headers lol i dont have the money spent it on a new 351 so ill just leave it alone but i could put some stickers on and make 30 to 40 rice power lol.

then get an underdrive pulley and a programmer...they are cheaper than headers and will still give a noticeable impact.
