Success! Yesterday I set the gopher trap wrong and it tripped it so would likely be spooked seeing the trap again, today I paid more attention with the 20ga ready and I got the thing! It started moving away from the shop probably because of the trap... still 3' from the shop so not my favorite thought but was fine.

Last night the wife apparently washed her hair which I'm guessing uses some type of industrial lubricant, normally I can control myself in the shower but not last night, I fell, broke the bottom shelf of the shower organizer thing and my foot ended up in the metal shelf/hamper thing which skinned my big toe a little... decided not to go out looking for deer at dawn since I was still sore...

Oh and we picked like 100 pounds of apples so far, will probably leave most of the rest for friends and such...

@Peter_'86_2.9L_Auto came over with his truck and I showed him how to change the oil. In exchange he’s helping me with some heavy stuff I have to do around here. So we went around the corner of the house, and there was some insulation laying on the ground, and I looked up and saw where this squirrel got into the house.

The fall maintenance got done on the Escape. Everything was good except for an HID head light being out and it being time to change the engine air filter. Luckily, Advance has a Purolator One filter on sale for $7. So I need to pick up one of those tomorrow.

The HID bulb, that is not going to be a fun job. I watched a few videos on it. So, thankfully, I won't need to disassemble the front end to do it. I just need a magnetic tip to remove the screws and amazon has some for around $25 - $30, as opposed to the $55 on Rock Auto and $140 at Amazon and O'Reilly's. Same brand for all of them.

It never ends, in this instance I don't recommend a shotgun but a pellet gun would suffice...

After I got the gopher, the cat found it all happy and drug it off to snack on... he's a fancy pants and doesn't like getting his toes wet... that's my guess for why he didn't go after it...

While I was waiting on the gopher I was working on a shelf to put between the pencil sharpener and fire extinguisher on the post by the man door for beverages and phone so I don't have to search for a flat spot when I'm hunting something in the walnut tree or whatever comes up there... just a simple 6"x8" piece cut out of the top of a 55 gallon drum with a bend on the last inch, gives like 4" past the fire extinguisher. Was a dumb quick project I could do while watching for activity... and avoiding cleaning

Got mom's camper listed on marketplace finally. Too big for me alone. Not right for my sister's family. Mom isn't going to take it out by herself. Should have done it weeks ago, but been procrastinating. Hopefully it'll find a buyer soon so it doesn't go to waste.

Got the ATV reassembled with as much as is going to be done for now. Was adding a winch and wanted to add backup and some other aux lights, only the winch got completed. Need to take another look at the winch wiring because something is off. I added a third party wireless winch remote kit. Apparently I pulled the power for the remote from the wrong place because it still operates the winch when it should be turned off. It'll do for now. I'll just open the circuit breaker so that it can't drain the battery while sitting. I'll take another look at that and lighting after the season is over.

Got trailer hooked to truck and ATV loaded. Tomorrow is a federal holiday so I'm off work. If I can get up and moving in the morning I'll take it out to the hunting club and do some trail maintenance before the season starts next weekend. Dad's ATV is down there now and has decided it doesn't want to run, so I'll use that new winch and get it loaded on the trailer to bring back.

Yesterday was rainy and I needed a break because I’ve been pushing too hard trying to do things, so I finally got everything done that I wanted to do to the one video I’ve been working on and got it rendered… 3 hours, 23 minutes and 2 seconds to render. Now I have to review it and make sure it’s good or I have to tweak it and render again (hopefully I don’t have to).

Today is laundry day. Partly clothing and partly washable camping gear. While each cycle was running, I got some camping stuff put away, dug out the cross bars for the trailer that I forgot about, changed the engine air filter on the Escape, and helped the neighbor install a tow hitch on his truck.

Took the 8N out for a drive after work. It’s running as good as it looks. Whats next? I guess getting things done before winter, Oil changes for all 3 vehicles no matter how close they really are to needing it. Winter tires on the ‘11 escape, better tires on my ‘09 escape. Equinox already has a brand new set. My garage needs organizing bad. Think Im done mowing for the season, can put all that in the back. In a couple of weeks Im driving for a hayride then I can put up my big trailer & mount the 3-point blade for the winter. Hopefully I wont need it.

Short day at work thanks to some crummy weather.. seized the opportunity and took my buddy with M.S out wheelin' afterwards.

Poor guys been living at a homeless shelter for the better part of a year, ALLLLL thanks to our states absolute JOKE of a DHHS. Thankfully, it seems as if he's FINALLY getting into an assisted care facility within the next week or so.. he got his letter of acceptance last week, filled out all the paperwork, all the paperwork was accepted... High hopes and fingers crossed for Josh if anyone deserves a break... It's that guy. He's in for a rough week... 8 hours getting an MRI on Friday and then straight into some 72 hour brain scan study immideately after.. apparently gonna be in pain for a week afterwards he says.. hell be in pain after walking a mile.. but apparently NOT moving for that many hours on end causes MUCH more pain

Count your blessings and be thankful for what you have.

ATV's swapped out at the hunting camp. Was rushing trying to get things together and arranged before next weekend bnecause dad's 4 wheeler wouldn;t start and/or stay running when I was out there the other week. Got everything situated to winch it up on the trailer with mine and drag it back home. Wouldn't you know that when I got there today it fired right up and ran fine. Annoying sumb...

Still got brought home and glad it is done because I recall dad having issues with it some last season. If I hadn't swapped them out, it probably would have been giving me issues again next trip out.

With that done went to clean trails like I was planning to do the other week when his wouldn't start. Aside from some little odds and ends, everything is ready for opening day next weekend. If I will be is a whole different story.

Tonight not much energy so in the shop I just did a dumb quick project... I found a pack of like 75 DeWalt utility knife blades but the oil had turnt or something, the blades were super stuck together and kinda rusty or whatever where they were stacked but the edges are perfect... being me I couldn't just toss them so spent like 30 minutes with some acetone and some 320 grit sand paper and cleaned most of them up and put them in the dispenser I have mounted to the man door post...

Then I went to clean up my browser tabs (was a mess, years worth of projects ) to get ready to switch my computer to Windows 11 but the "campaign manager" said my computer wasn't eligible, looking at my specs the only thing obvious is the 4gb ram but that should be fixable... has one stick used out of two slots, looks like I can get two 8gb sticks for like $25. I have a Intel I3-4170 3.7ghz processor, I don't know what most of the rest of the specs they say are needed are...
