Campground is only open weekends like SMORR but it is a very nice park.

I just brought up the map... a tad over 8 hour drive for me. Taking my mom to my sister's in three weeks.

Not gonna rule it out but can't commit fully at this point. My wife's schedule is like hyper dynamic these days and I have to work around that.

I will be in Kansas the weekend of Oct. 17th-18th but will be attending my 60th class reunion. It looks to be very close to where I will be, Garnett, KS. Unfortunately, I don't think I will have any time to join you.

Bring the grandson! There is a huge trunk or treat…. I’ve already suggested outfitting the ranger with an official looking Ranger logo decal for the door and having Oliver be a Ranger again for Halloween. He suggested I dress as yogi bear which morphed into Lily being dressed as either yogi or boo boo.

Oh boy...

This year sure flew by.

Hard for me to believe its already October.

I'd sure like to go... haven't road tripped or camped all year. But I have about 50 feet of privacy fence to rebuild. The temps have come down to make it livable... the neighbor offered to lend a hand... and the price of lumber... son of a...

I also have a couple trips back to Michigan to deer hunt and do some Steelhead fishing.

With regrets... I have to pass on this one.

If there is any way, I would like to stop by and say hi. Friday evening and Saturday are out but I can get away Friday during the day or Sunday if I can get in without having to pay for entry. I understand they will be closed on Sunday. Does that mean you have to leave first thing in the morning?

I just looked up their website. It looks like they will be open on Sunday. I am not sure if I will need to pay the $25 or $5 for entry.

The campground is outside of the gate to actually get into the park. You shouldn't have to pay if you are not going into the actual offroad part.

We will be packing up to leave Sunday, not sure what time but we never leave "first thing" lol.

We should get in mid afternoon Friday. Hoping to leave here around noon and its a four hour drive.

If you look at the map we will be camping where it says "Shelter 1" and "Shelter 2" in the lower left.
