How much would you realistically pay for a Ranger Super Duty?

TFL saw one being tested on the streets of Colorado, so the did a build for video filler.

It came to $71,000 American after dollar conversion which made viewers say no way! That's 250-350 money.

So, out of curiosity, how much would you spend for a Ranger that can tow and haul the same amount as a F-250?

I'm thinking $55,000-$60,000 starting.

Not much if an F-150 is an option.

More interior room, more exterior room, can haul my slide in camper, tows my tractors with ease... no need to spend more for a smaller less capable package.

I mean, I’ve used my Rangers like an F-250 before and I didn’t spend that kind of money…

Used my F-150 like an F-350/F-450 quite a bit actually. I did spend some money on junkyard axles, ZF5 trans from a junkyard, junkyard F-250 leaf packs, and bought heavier front coils new… less than $2k in upgrades… That’s all going to change when I rebuild it but I’m not planning on spending stupid money. $70k+ is stupid money.

I am in the 0 club too. I like the idea because the size is so useful but in reality, i dont even need a half ton

I can see where it would have its merits though.

Like the overlander crowd, it would be great for one of those flip up topper/roof top tents.

I can definitely see it being useful. I would love ro have one but i know the cost would be way more than i could justify since i would just daily drive it.


I think one with a flat bed on the back would be awesome

And if it has the payload of a 3/4 ton or whatever... it probably rides like one too.

I can’t afford all that. So, my answer is 0.

However… it wouldn’t have to ride rough. Saw this at the overland expo. It's a cool system. They haven’t scaled it down to smaller trucks yet. But considering my Ranger weighed roughly 6,000lbs on the way back from Colorado, it might not be as far out of their weight ranges as they think. It would be fun to play with. They claim to be making F450 and F550’s ride like F150’s

Its all fun and games until you lose a ride height sensor or blow out a spring...

When you go to the middle of nowhere it is hard to beat the old fashioned bouncy kind of spring.

As someone who loves to waste money… I wouldn’t buy one. I got a Ranger to do Ranger things, not F250 things. F250 things involve larger objects and require a larger vehicle.

Who in their right mind would spend that kind of money to take a little comfortable functional utility truck and make it do something a big truck would do?

A slide in camper and the ability to tow my Bronco II...

Prices for all new vehicles are absurd. Depending on how i could have it configured... I'd likely spend an absurd amount of money to have one.

If I'm going to get a heavy duty truck, I'll get a full sized one if it's all the same money. Fortunately, I don't need one. I'm looking for ways to make my 94 ride better. I don't want a rougher ride.
