New tools you've bought recently?

I’ve been wanting a 3/8” flex head with standard length handle, non quick release. For tighter spots.

I ordered a Craftsman V series cmmt86322V

They’re supposed to be decent, and they pretty cheap. $20 with a coupon.

I looked at buying something a little nicer, but I don’t plan on using it a lot so I didn’t want to spend a bunch. See how it is when I go to use it.

Don't know where to put this but

Finally had my 1970's Sears floor jack rebuilt. Unfortunately I removed the handle while disassembly the jack for repair. I see now that the handle did not need to removed.

Now I cannot see how this spring is to be installed. The spring is supposed to help hold the handle in the up position. Any ideas?

You have it backwards, it'll have preload the other way... and the leg that is vertical now will be flat against the body and stuck against the bleed screw...

What scotts90ranger said. Those springs can be a real S.O.B. to get back into place while keeping the spring cranked so it will provide the lifting force you want to to provide.

My score today was a new set of 6 ton Daytona jack stands from HF... I bought a brand new set of the recalled Pittsburgh ones for $20 on Marketplace and traded them in at the store for the Daytona ones.

@snoranger has one of those saws. He used it on the Vagabond trip last fall. I debated getting the one with the longer bar. But storage space on the truck is valuable. And with creativity and good technique, that little bar can do a lot of work.

Best answer I have is "very carefully". I usually just figure it out as I go along on things like that.

I have both of the Milwaukee battery chain saws, the mini pruning saw and the full size chain saw. The little pruning saw is my go to for almost anything around either my new place or my old yard (2.5 acres, mostly woods). Unless you plan on cutting down a tree, the little saw is good for the job.

A big screw driver or some duckbill pliers, maybe? It's going to be tricky. We have some flapper valves we rebuild with springs like that. Not bad when you do it on a regular basis and have the proceedure down but a bear when it's been a while and you've forgotten the tricks that make it easier.

For the spring..2 pieces of small diameter pipe or tube. Slip them over the ends and and squeeze.

My old TEQ jack no longer has either springs for this reason.

Works great. My simple clip and pull pliers style stripper is getting worn out.

My craftsman flex head came in. Looks nice, head a little thick, and I don’t see a way to disassemble it.

lot of back drag, but really high tooth count.

First impression, I’m not impressed, probably wouldn’t buy it again.

All that said, probably the best flex head ratchet you can buy for $20.
