Who wrecked their Ranger Edge V8 swap?

And more importantly, why did you let the insurance meddle with your truck after such a light accident?

Looks to be an easy fix on this Exploder V8 swapped Ranger Edge. If it had a clean title, I'd be bidding on it and not posting it here. Perfect specs on this truck. Manual windows/locks 4x4, V8, shortbed, standard cab, drooooooool... The only thing that would have made it better would be a manual trans and a clear title.

I don’t really see anything wrong with it. Probably would pass an inspection in Pa.

From the south too…..

Looks like the winch got bent into the grill. Wonder if the rad fluid leaked and the motor is toast?

says it starts and drives under its own power….

Can only trust so much but..

I bet a guy could straighten out the center support of the radiator support (if it's even bent) and work on those bumper mounts and it would be perfectly drivable. Such a cool truck. Unfortunately IL sucks to get a salvage title vehicle back to driving condition. Several trips to the St. Louis area for inspection are required and you have to trailer it there.

i would bet it was salvaged because of either the truck not being worth anything, or the front bumper not being DOT compliant during inspection.

If the radiator isn’t messed up, and the engine is fine. you could probably take that too the enhanced inspection statin in Pa and they would give it an ok without anything.

$100 for inspection, plus tax, title, tags, and you’ve got yourself an R title.

If I didn’t have 5 slightly broken cars in my driveway already.

I see far worse on the road here every day. Usually a Nissan Altima or Maxima with no front or rear bumpers and 4" LED pods for headlights. That said a coworker bought a truck from KY with a salvage title and was told there is no legal way to get it on the road in TN. (BS by the way, we have a process for that as well as lost title. Anything more than 10 years old with values less than I think $10,000 can usually get a new title issued in 2 weeks, if it hasn't been reported stolen. Just the court clerks' office here refuses to do the state paperwork.)

I've changed my mind and might take the gamble on getting this one shipped to me. I'll have to do a lot more research though.

I'd wager it's totalled cause it needs a frame. Those front horns are tore up worse than a toilet at the annual chili cook-off.

Scab the front frame back together and put a new cab on it, good to go and no salvage title.

Aftermarket bumpers are good for that, they don't give how the stock bumper does... so it all goes straight to the frame.

I'm guessing by the way it bent, the frame horns aren't that bad. It's mainly the aftermarket bumper mounts. From the ones I've seen, they're not built to handle any upward pressure at all. Just pressure straight forward or straight backward. I wasn't happy with mine so I modified them.

Thought I wish they did take pictures straight from the side so I could see the door/fender gaps better. Now y'all got me second guessing this one.

Humour me: Picture 5 - what are the mounts way under the bumper?

Dent in tailgate...not that serious though. Issues going to inspection because the engine is older than the body (and maybe no cats)?
