Mulling upgrades

My gross is over 4500, it's 4920. I'll look over the laws carefully. Thanks.

14 to 29 front and 14 to 30 rear. Those are no lower than and no higher than limits. I'll have to check on total level surface to see where I am now with fairly worn 235/75/r15's.
Let some air out of tires before inspection lol.

I wasn't going to chime into this thread, because I know next to nothing about the subject. HOWEVER, THIS I want to chime in on. There's a reason that this regulation exists. It's because vehicle safety is designed around these measurements. If, God forbid, you should T-bone somebody, and the bottom of your bumper is above 30", you will go OVER THE SIDE IMPACT DOOR BEAM of a smaller vehicle. I'm sure you know what that means to the occupants of the vehicle. If you hit them head on, you will go OVER THE TOP OF THEIR BUMPER AND HOOD. If that happens, you can ride up the hood, allowing your vehicle to intrude into the passenger cabin. Again, I'm sure you know what that means for the occupants of the vehicle.

For the safety of all other vehicle occupants on the road, please stay within legal limits.

I'll measure it tomorrow.

... and height of bottom of my frame rail.
You're in South Carolina, Your laws are a lot better for lifting trucks,

About the only restrictions you have for trucks are the heights of your headlights center of headlights no more than 54" and no less that 24"

No frame or bumper height restrictions for trucks

Now that is state to live in for wheeling.

Vermont has a lot less restrictions than Massachusetts and I can register a second vehicle there and be bound my Vermont law even though I live in Ma. but the issue for those far away is the inspection every year where I drive less than 30 mins and I'm in Vermont at a buddys shop that does inspections. I'm just to feeble to get into something much taller than my 2wd ranger. :dntknw:

Well, my front frame rail bottom measurement is about 27". My rear is actually 29". But I have longer shackles back there. So, realistically, with just the 35's and 6" lift it's about 28". These are rough measurements, since I'm not sure what my truck weighs with the custom bed. My home built rear bumper is flush with the bottom of the frame. So, if your bumper sticks down lower than that, that helps. Same with the front. I'm in the process of building a front bumper. So there isn't one there right now.

That should give you a rough idea of where you'll be with 35" tires and 6" suspension lift.

I'm not measuring for my benefit. It's to give James an idea where he'll end up with the same conbination.

I really just wish they'd do something about my safety in case I get t-boned by a dump truck in my geo metro, or run over by a geo metro while on my motorcycle.

Best help for that is to get unsafe drivers off the road.
