If only you could get a stripped base model now for under 10K.

The BS and Maverick are built in the same plant. They can only build so many before it cuts into BS production.I do wonder if they are deliberately NOT making as many mavericks as they could so sales of bronco’s/escape’s/rangers wouldnt take such a hit. Less than a 1 week ordering window? by the time I heard about it, it was over, and “build & price” wasn’t available until after the “window” was closed? Ford shoots itself in the foot so much its not funny.
BS and maverick are both escapes. The BS and Maverick are built in the same plant. They can only build so many before it cuts into BS production.
Escapes are built in a different plant along with the Lincoln Corsair.BS and maverick are both escapes.
This 18 page discussion would have been nice over here ----------------> MaverickTruckin.com
Seriously... that place needs the traffic!
Is this the 3rd time one of the Mods said this, or the 4th?
I even tried to move it there.
.. or people who need a truck , but not a full size truck,
I remember when the "new" Ranger was released, almost everybody said it was too big to be a Ranger and Ford should have called it a F-100. So Ford built the Maverick. Simple as that.
I got by with Sport Tracs for 16 years. With the bed extender the bed is usable. The Maverick is even smaller than a Sport Trac though.Seems like I touched a nerve.
The Maverick isn’t a truck anymore than the Ridgeline is a truck. It can do some truck things but so could an Elcamino and no one even thought about calling it a truck.
I will agree that the new Ranger is too big. Building a beefed up unit body platform with a FWD based drivetrain and a dinky bed didn’t address the issue.
Guy had one at Carlisle. He was old.Ford targeted the Maverick at the 20-30 year olds. I've yet to actually see anyone driving one that looked like they were under 40.
Ford's marketing people are smart enough to know that the typical intended use of a Maverick XL is a urban delivery type vehicle, for which there is nearly zero need for cruise control. They expect retail clients to buy XLT or Lariat to get all the cool stuff they want.
How many 2000-2011 single cab 2wd 4 cyl Rangers do you still see running around delivering parts? They are everywhere. They are being replaced by Maverick hybrids as fast as the companies can get them.
A great many rural trucks around me are XL or similar.
Nissan has taken over the Ranger's delivery role around me.
Napa runs hardbody Nissans like they have since forever, Oreilly's has late model Nissan Frontiers and Carquest runs a Caravan.
Rural mail carriers either run nearly worthless Mercedes vans or personal vehicles.
