Ok perfect. I'm not blind thenFill plug is usually mid-way on the transmission, and the transmission is filled about half full. The gears in the bottom transfer the oil to the top of the tranny as they are turning.

That's what I thought. I didn't think it was supposed to be so full...If the oil was up past the fill plug then someone overfilled it through the shifter hole. Fill it till it just starts to dribble out of the top hole... that's where it should be.
That usually indicates the rear seal is leaking on the transmission, was the transmission fluid low?Fill plug is usually mid-way on the transmission, and the transmission is filled about half full. The gears in the bottom transfer the oil to the top of the tranny as they are turning.
No, it was way overfilledThat usually indicates the rear seal is leaking on the transmission, was the transmission fluid low?
If the rear trans seal leaks it overfills the transfer case and the transmission level drops. So you're saying both the transmission and transfer case were overfull? If that's the case, when you pulled the drain plugs did water come out first? If it's been in deep water it would get in the vents and the fluids would both float on the water. That wouldn't be good. No, it was way overfilled
My truck was a mudding truck for a long time, and it has been buried up to the cab roof in water and mud but no water got in my transfer case or transmission. Which I was very happy to see.If the rear trans seal leaks it overfills the transfer case and the transmission level drops. So you're saying both the transmission and transfer case were overfull?
