Field find 98 Ford Ranger 4x4 4.0 auto

I had to buy an automatic to teach the misses to drive so I bought and high milage green 98 ford ranger 4.0 auto club cab 2 door.
It has a number of issues and I am looking for doner trucks to restore it.

I am looking for a part FAQ so I can find what years' parts fit my car.

The motor has 280k on it so a drive train swap is likely in my future. Also looking for interior parts as well.

Located in Western MA near Springfield.

since you are in the rust belt, crawl under and have a real good look. hit things with a small hammer while down there.
while any part can be replaced, rusted out frames are terrible place to start.

That's 4th generation, so primarily parts from 98-2011. You may be able to use a few things from 3rd generation (93-97) and some stuff from Explorers may fit. There's some info in our tech articles about parts interchange and you can find more by searching the forums.
