Before I buy these - Don't think I have Secure Lock

My first post about my new to me 2008 FX4.

I'm wanting to have a couple extra keys and I'm trying to be certain I'm going about this right. When I turn the truck off I don't see the 'lock' icon flashing. But do see i when I turn the key to on.

Here's what I'm going to buy:

Secure lock is just another name for PATS. And yes, you have it.

All rangers after 1998 have it (except 2005 for some strange reason).

Those keys you linked to "should" work They will need to be programmed. You can do it yourself if you have two original keys. If not you need to have a locksmith do it. You can program the fobs yourself no matter how many you have.

The manual says the indicator should flash for a few seconds after turning the ignition off. Which doesn't happen on my truck.

The icon on the lower left of the instrument panel is the PATS icon. It comes on for 1 or 2 seconds when you first put the key to the run position, and then blinks once when you take the key out of the ignition. That's all it does... well unless you make it mad by sticking the wrong key in the ignition, then it starts blinking angrily.

Aside from the lead drums of fissionable material I have buried in the back yard, my cute little Ford is the most butch thing I own....except, of course, my wife....Karen.

I've seen some flash continously and some just blink once. My 09 only blinks once. I dunno if maybe the factory alarm is hooked up to make it blink continuously? Or maybe someone just decided to randomly program it differently depending on the day of the week it was built? But he's definitely got PATS either way lol.
