My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
So far I got a quart of oil, gallon of coolant, roll of etape, a small pass-through socket set and a leatherman in a milk crate, usually either in the bed or extracab floor. oh yea and stuffed behind the booster seat is the oem bottle jack and my folding 4 way lug wrench...and some band aids.

seeking ideas, figured I'd ask what u guys pack, and maybe in what and where? Im debating whether to scatter it among stashes and cubbys out of sight and space, or all in one pack that is easily accessible, but invades space (and maybe invites break ins)...

Im also thinking maybe doing a combo deal, like perhaps a minimal daily driving kit, and an add on more extensive adventuring kit....

I envy the guys that bring almost nothing, yet have everything they need...I pack it all and the kitchen sink, and still forget 7 essential things 🤦‍♂️

My apologies in advance if I posted in the wrong section, and for the terrible writing habits...I'm new, and old lol

This has been discussed a few times on here.

There is an article in the Tech Library that you can reference.

Everyone is different... I always travel with a minimum tool kit... and add as the travels dictate...

That one is quite extensive, and awesome...I was just curious about specific versions in case anyone was bored enough to chew the fat about it lol....Because I agree everyone is different. Add as travels dictate is good KISS advice, I can dig that.

Im leaning towards something like Dirtmans kit in ford4wd08's thread...got a few ideas there actually, good read.

Mine varies depending on where I’m going, for how long and who I’m traveling with. I rarely need a kitchen sink. But a roll of toilet paper can be handy.

For the daily travels I bring my aaa card lol.

The list of crap I'll bring on an adventure is more extensive and I'm still in the process of acquiring some of it. I'll put that in the other thread.

Jug of coolant, pliers, spare ignition module/tool, also have a spare coil mounted under the hood, oh and a fire extinguisher.

Generally even with my 97 F250 when i take it on longer trips (espicially with the camper) i think of anything small and easy to change (coil, ignition module, etc) that could fail without real warning and result in a hefty tow bill.

Good stuff! I like the idea of taking along the easily changeable randomly crap outable parts. I do a have a spare coil pack that would probably be more handy in my truck than my garage if ever needed...Thanks for the replies so far everyone!

A knife, a bullet, and a match.

One of those lockable storage boxes with an attachable cable they sell to lock up pistols and such. The cable is attached to the frame of the passenger seat. It's for me to stash my pistol under the seat when going somewhere I can't carry. It's out of sight and would slow down (slightly) a thief.

My Ranger never breaks down!!

I’ve driven it less than 100 miles in the past year.... It can’t break down if I don’t drive it.

no....really....

and in fact. i am also a professional winch operator.

with diapers in a bag...in my tool box.

how ya like me now? :thefinger:
