Mystery tool thread.

Walt's other tools he posted would be happy to collect dust along with my tools from about the same era... maybe a little later. I know... I need to organize my tool box. There are probably a few stumpers in there somewhere.

Lets try to guess the Blue-Point tool in the lower left corner...

I'm not going to answer but I've got the Ford version with a 1968 tool number on it.

That Blue Point tool looks like some type of angle finder, measured in degrees.

The tools in my picture are from the early 70's at the latest. The little one on the left is used to start the screws holding the points and condenser to the breaker plate, you twist the end until it lines up, then push the screw slot onto it and it gabs the screw so you don't drop it. The long one on the right is poked through the window in a GM distributor and turned to fine tune the dwell, the cylindrical piece adapts it to fit points without an allen head. Dwell is the number of degrees that the points are closed during a revolution, the longer the points were closed, the more time the condenser was charged and the hotter the spark, dual point distributors had more dwell. I'll let you know if I ever miss breaker points or new condensers that fail the day after installation.

Let's try this one.

Cavity probe?

Close. It's used inside a well.

You're not probing my cavity with that thing!

Not with that attitude I'm not.

Nope! Got where it goes right, though.
Dunno but you probably need to put it back in Dirtmans basement

Ha. He wishes that was in his basement.

Is that the ten foot pole you didn't want to touch it with?
