Coronavirus

Yes, he's going to reassure us all that he has things well in hand. He is an expert in all things...just ask him.
After his speech, he's probably going to fly down to his resort, at our expense, to play golf for a long weekend.
After all, it's been 3 days since he last played.

He should order cancellations of Democrat gatherings, they are really not needed, we already know who will win in November so very much UN-needed gatherings to prevent the spread of diseases, like corona virus and STUPIDITY

I don't think all Democrats are stupid, but they are all carriers

The dem's have already cancelled their rally's. Even the up -coming debate will not have an audience...empty auditorium.
It's fearless leader who won't cancel his rally's. Serve him right if the virus got passed around during on of them. The ultimate would be for him to catch it. :yahoo:
And do not believe for one minute that fearless leader has not been tested. He is a known germaphobe, and has been known to throw an aide out of his office for just sneezing or coughing..
He hates shaking hands, and his aids keep wipes with them at all times. He probably has himself tested daily.

Oh yea, he's a real health nut.

There's a difference between a health nut and a germaphobe.

I won't eat anything on that table if I have any other option but starving, but I get pissy at the idea that someone else might tell me I have to wash my hands for "sanitation" reasons.

Not sayin he don't eat like a pig.
But he is a germaphobe. Well known and documented.

I watched Trump tonight and as a small business owner... I was glad for a couple things he said. The wife and I already have a plan to shut our pizzeria down if it gets to HOT in that area. It sure will hurt... but with no payroll... food bills... etc... we could survive if it did have to close. Tomorrow I go shop and fill the pantry to ensure we could shelter at home for a few weeks if it comes to that. I figure it's better to be prepared then not.

I still think it's being blown out of proportion. Thousands die in this country every year from the flu and we see more ads for Nyquil and such on TV. Ted Cruz and another senator who was on the news this morning are both quarantined because they tested positive though neither has symptoms. I wonder which doctors ordered the tests for them without symptoms. Anyway, if people can have the virus and not have symptoms or can have a mild case and never see a doctor, that means the fatalities are a much smaller percentage than is being reported. It's a strain of the flu, it's not the black plague. I'm sure tobacco will kill more people this year. Stay calm but stay home if you get sick if at all possible.

While I tend to agree with you Walt... I'm still a Boy Scout. Be prepared... have a plan.

They suspended play in the NBA... NHL is probably going to do the same. Travel bans... Auto shows being postponed... the list just keeps growing.

I'm just keeping my eyes wide open... no reason for me not to.

They did close a school today in the area of my business... someone had symptoms... perhaps over kill. But with the catch rates when you come in contact with someone infected... and the lack of symptoms... it is probably wide spread already. I will also bet that someone has walked into my business with it. They left it on my credit card machine... my pop cooler... the chairs on my lobby. In fact I believe the first confirmed case in the US was within a couple miles of my business location.

But I'm gonna open the place... it's how we pay the bills. I will make pizza for close to 1500 people in the next three or four days. Be careful out there... this thing is just sitting there waiting on you...

This is the problem:

Unlike the seasonal flu nobody has any immunity to this. Even if 80% have no issues with it, 20% hitting the hospital system at once will completely overwhelm it. My daughter is a nurse in a big city hospital, and I don't want to see her have to do triage on 24hr shifts and let people die in the hall, nor do I want to see those I care about who have other health issues be one of those patients. For the most part the quarantines are not to protect you, they are to protect people from you.

This is the answer to my earlier questions of what people were trying to achieve with lockdowns, closings and quarantines.

I seen that on Good Morning America this morning.

The 11:00 o'clock news just announced the full school closures... was 8 or 9 I believe. Also pretty much every college campus in Chicago Metro is also closed.

There is also a small satellite college campus within a 1/2 mile from our home. When I drove by yesterday they were dropping off several porta pottys and looked like they were erecting an enclosure around the main entrance. Just strange... perhaps a quarantine facility?

Didnt trump fire the white house pandemic response team last year? :icon_confused:

Seems like they could have come in handy.

And when asked if he though the massive budget cuts to the CDC were still a good idea his answer was, "oh we can just hire those people back if we need to". But ummm by the time you need those people aren't you already basically screwed?

Kinda like saying hey, ill install smoke alarms and fire extinguishers in my house if it ever catches fire...
