How does amazon stay in business?!

A day or two? :icon_confused: are they delivering on horseback!? 99% of my stuff comes 4 or 5 hours after I place the order :icon_rofl:

That sounds like the service I get if I order something from Summit Racing. They have a location in Atlanta, which isn't far from here. I'd swear that as soon as I pay for my order, some dude runs out the door and throws the box on a passing semi on I85, with a note telling the driver to heave it onto my doorstep as he drives through Greenville. That's exaggerating, but it's almost always next day delivery from Summit for me and my co-workers.

Well they was using homing turtles but they kept getting ran over on the highway...

Thankfully it isn't populated enough around here to warrant an Amazon hub. 2-3 is about the norm, USPS moving at the speed of government usually figures out they are shipping something on their tracking deal about the time it is out for delivery.

Speedway Motors and Streetside auto are generally next day. Rockauto can vary wildly.

Lately I have been seeing some Amazon items much more expensive than other dealers. I like to get a second opinion on whatever I buy from anyone. Heaven help us if Amazon becomes the only supplier. They will raise the prices through the roof.

my dad found PS Hoses for his 98 Continental cheaper at Otto'sOwn than Amazon. he checked rock auto, CarID, amozon and auto zone had it cheaper he just had to go get it. same day service lol

But he had to get off the couch?

Deal breaker....

He lives 30 miles from the nearest structure that can be called a store ( think Mayberry, but in Arkansas ) He has to go to town to get a part the same day, or he can wait 3-5 days for the courier to tell them it's been returned because they cant find his place on the GPS. He likes RockAuto for their accuracy but same day service is better, even if he has to get off the couch.

Screw Amazon. Every time I order from them it's two weeks before I get it. I ordered shocks last Monday, the 27th, and they just shipped TODAY. ETA of 6-5-19.

I don't have Prime and will never pay for it if they can't hurry things up a bit. FWIW I also placed orders on the 27th with truckspring.com, Advance Auto Parts and Bronco Graveyard and had parts in my hand last Thursday and Friday... it's absolute insanity.

When you buy things on amazon you need to verify you are buying from amazon and not a third party seller. I've never had anything but trouble using third party sellers. And come on... 99 dollars a year for a decent video streaming service, streaming music, and free shipping is a pretty damn good deal. :dunno: I dont have cable so prime video is my main source of T.V.

You do sorta live in the middle of nowhere though... :icon_rofl:

I love it when I order something that costs $5 and they mail it from China and I have it in three days. They can't be making any money on that.

When they read their tea leaves, they found out you were going to order that item. So they put it in a container on a huge container ship that moves really slow 6 months ago so you would have it "quickly".

I haven't had a problem yet. Mainly books and stuff though.

I did order tie rod stuff for my truck Monday. Even with the TRS discount they beat Rockauto by $10 because everything was free freight. I did have to go with a different vendor for one of them though, Amazon was out of stock until August.

I didn't save any money though as I added a marine USB charging port to my order.

I'm gonna agree with oldman here... it pay's to shop around. Sometimes substantially.

I still prefer to shop locally... even though we still buy from amazon.

For OEM parts, you guys should really check with Autonation Ford White Bear Lake before accepting prices from other places. They are usually cheaper and you are guaranteed to get the Ford/Motocraft part and not some knockoff.
