Fuel pump going.

Well I guess im gonna have to get a fuel pump for my truck. Running 62 psi idle. Drops to 48 on fast rev. After the pump cycles with the key on the pressure goes from 64 to 10 psi in about 4 seconds. Does anyone know of a good pump assembly only besides buying everything?

Kinda sounds more like a fuel pressure regulator issue and not a pump. What are you using for a fuel pressure regulator?

That's what I was thinking as well. Can you hear the pump turning on whenever the key is on?

It's a returnless system so the fpr is on the pump assembly in the tank. Looks like I will have to buy the whole assembly anyways after looking around on the internet. I can find the pump kit but they do not come with the fpr. From what I have seen the fpr is a 100 bux. I had a 50,000 mile fuel pump assembly and forgot to pull it out of the explorer before I scrapped it The ranger pump has 220,000 miles on it.

Well... you got your moneys worth out of that one.

I know you did a V8 swap... so I didn't know exactly what you did to the fuel system...

But yeah... Replace the assembly.

Yeah explorer and ranger fuel system is identical in my case.

I am going to order a fuel pump next week. I have been cycling the key for a year now and it is to the point where it is barely wanting to start. I am curious to see the power increase after replacing it.
