Water leak in the drip rail

Well, after searching every concievable spot for the water leaking on my passenger floor board I found the culprit. I ground out all the sealer that I put in last fall when I thought I found the problem and there it was....the entire drip rail had a 1/8" gap between the joints. Not being a welder, I filled the gap with good old JB Weld and after painting it with Rust Bullet and applying seam sealer again hopefully that takes care of that.

yup that and the corner of the windsheild underneath the trim are culprits. Check out this thread for another common water leak issue..

Thanks Zman....so far no leak fix....the water pours out at the top passenger side corner of the windshield where the roof metal is joined. Luckily, I don't have a headliner so when I pulled the moldings it was easy to see....but now I've got to find the source....I took the windshield trim off and put in more black urethane sealer to no avail. I put duct tape over the windshield edge and the drip rail....no luck

Good to hear you fixed this...

I have a hole at the top of the windshield on the passenger side that I just discovered...tried to sand it and have a better look...was going to stuff it with roofing cement but now that you mentioned JB weld I might try that instead...

When I had the truck apart during my build I inspected the firewall area very closely when I had the dash out...it was solid...but I do need to replace my windshield as it is also leaking a bit there...and the windshield is pitted badly so it will need replacing anyway...

The previous owner had applied some gunk all around the windshield that did absolutely nothing...took me two hours to dig the crap out and I filled it with silicone...pretty much stopped most of the leaks but I still get a dribble now and then...

So after hours of searching for the leak around the windshield and the drip rail I finally was home when it rained and low and behold the water was pooling on the passenger floorboard still....So I removed the kick panel trim and looked up behind the ECU and.....nothing. Happened to notice water around the door sill molding so I took it off...stream of water under it so I removed the carpet pad on the rear cab wall and there's the dammmmmm leak...a steady drip at the corner of the sliding window gasket (which I took out last fall and thought I'd fixed it) so it looks like urethane sealant time til I find a better slider & rubber at the junk yard.

Mine leaked in the same area...this is why.

I actually had two '92s with the same problem...

this one as a little more extensive as you can see.
