Funniest Repair Orders you've seen?

I had a customer last week that saw a spider in her bed room. She ran out of her bedroom, taped both doors shut and then called my company to ask if they'd send me out to kill it.

...and our call center actually did. :annoyed:

Did you get it?

**** no. I used every last bit of my self control to not choke the stupid right out of her and then I told her to clean up her room so I could actually get to the perimeter and call us back so I can spray it.

Oh stop, I would have walked in, when "WHAP" with a newspaper on the wall, and then got my payday.

Even if the spider had still been around when I got there I'd have purposely not killed it just to **** with her. Probably would have told her it was some special endangered spider that I legally can't kill and then remind her that I can't stop her from killing it once I leave.

Saw a really good one today. The front of it was fairly normal. One of the junior techs started on it and, as I was told, "got lost really quick".

Car came in for the air bag light being on. Flipped it over to see what Mr JDaA had come up with, found this on the back:

"Test drove car. Airbag light flashed during staring/warm up, was on steady for the rest of the drive. Pulled codes.... viewed fault pids... will need further testing and diag." :annoyed:

Really!?! We are supposed to be the freaking dealership and we have this level of dumbassery working there?

when i worked for chevy, we had a guy bring in his 06 Cadillac STS that he got from the used lot. really nice, one owner trade-in. he brings it in and the WO says "customer complains of shuddering while running." long story short, he was due for an oil change, and his "mechanic buddy" suggested doing a motor flush. it only had 77k on it, but ok, whatever. turns out his flush solution was to drain the oil, fill the motor with water, run the motor for 10 min, drain the water, and refil with oil. he noticed a ticking noise after that, so he added 2 quarts of 15w40 to "thicken" the oil up.

much to my dismay, after draining the oil, removing the filter, flushing it the correct way, and adding the correct weight and amount of oil, it ran fine. good thing he had the sense to have it towed to the dealership.

i really regret that the car went back to the owner. people that dumb shouldnt be driving.

Kinda reminds me of this one, Its been around for years. (The car in question was a '94 Cobra.)

My car was idling like crap the other day so I figured since I just got it, it may have been awhile since anyone changed the oil out. I decided to go ahead and change the oil. I used Mobile 1 synthentic oil like I was reccomended on here. Anyways, I drain out the oil and noticed it was extremely dark and even after 10 minutes of draining, it was still coming out. I decided to go ahead and flush it to make sure all the bad stuff got out. I hooked up the hose, ran water through the engine, started it up and was waiting for the water to come out clean (The engine never went above idle so I was told this would be ok). Anyways, About 3 minutes into this, then engine starts shaking and shuts off. I figured it was all cleaned out so I plugged it up, added the oil and figured I was ready to go. WRONG! The car won't freaking start now. This car has been nothing but trouble for me, I think I am done with it.

i read the order twice when i got it, just to be sure. i thought, "i must have read that wrong." nope, he was, in fact, a moron.

We had a dealer bring a chevy avalanche in with a bad motor, and he wanted us to put a motor in. Why waste your time on a GM?

Of course the same dealer had us put a motor in a Dodge Intrepid :dunno:

wow i thought they had great engines just crudo trannys :icon_rofl:

Must have been a 2.7... those engines were pretty crappy in the pre 2002 models. The transmission issues were largely fixed after 95

Hell, my 94 has over 190k on original engine/tranny. of course I have the bulletproof 3.3...
