the question i pose is this:

a 2005 ranger's 3.0 and auto tranny from a 2wd into my B2?

doable?

How much of the original Ranger the 3.0 came from do you have? It's doable, the more you have from the donor the easier it will be. (I'm so helpful, aren't I? :D)

comes with engine minus accessorys and the wireing harness and transmission.

pretty much the stuff removed to put a 5.0 in its place

You'll have to disassemble the entire transmission and swap the output shaft in order to get a transfer case to bolt up to it.

Right. So I would need the proper output and have to match the t case bolts. So im rhunking it may be better to find a 3.0 4x4 manual trans correct?

Your BII is a manual ain't it?

I'd keep it a manual. Those newer 3.0's put out almost as much power as a 4.0 OHV, should be a decently quick truck. :icon_thumby: Should be an interesting swap, no body does 3.0 swaps.

i like that idea and should make it a easier thing i think. might need to make new mounts for the engine and tranny im sure though.

i think i would be the only one:headbang:

Definitely would be interesting. Anything is possible with enough time and money.....

I've been thinking of a 98+ IFS swap into a B2.......

Just to be different.

Who's motor are you try to use? Oh wait, I know the answer to that question already.

<-----------------This guys!

Yup. The motor has 80k miles on it. It has iridium plugs, AMSOIL (that needs to be changed), KN air filter. It was babied since I have had it since July of 09.

is it a flex fuel?

It has been done in a BII before.

Been a couple forum versions ago but I remember somebody was all bummed that somebody stole it and wrecked it. He was impressed with the speeds it reached in the chase though.

I think it was back before I was a regular though, I didn't really know anyone yet.
