i would also suspect that would be your alternator/ alternator regulator.
but have you checked your voltage at your batt from low-high rpm and see how much its drawing? maybe a short some where especially nere your headers? i had the same problem when my headers heated up(at high rpm) it was burning through a 12v wire and i would see my batt light come on eventually drew so much blew my battery up broke down on the highway =(.
