Default strange idea

ok,i know the bolt patterns are similsr(if not the same)on newer bed styles than mine
and iv been thinking about makeing my truck a "redneck shadow" meaning, puttins a flairside bed on it
3?s
will it fit on a lingbox frame
would bolting it up be a pain in the a$$
and would that be compleatly retarted

idk just a thought and i know i could find a decint bed in a junkyard(there was 2 the last time i went)
so what do you guys think

o and the truck is an 85 std cab,longbed,4x4, with a single tank(if that matters)

I haven't seen any longbeds that are flareside.

I like your idea though.

All right, I don't know if it will bolt on (but I don't think that a short bed flair side will bolt onto a long bed frame), but I do know that if you are thinking about putting a new style bed on there your body lines will be way off. I think that would be the limiting factor for me as it would be very noticable that the bed and the cab don't match.

Try this out.

Do the flareside bed swap, but try to think of someway to use that gap that will be between the bed and cab.

He'd also have to think of something to do with the spare 6" of frame sticking out the back.

I thought the shortbed would fit on the very end of the frame, in which he would not have to worry about that.

You are right though... reg cab short bed is 108" wheelbase
reg cab long bed is 114" wheelbase

Hmmm... I didn't quite think about that. I

He could always chop off the back of the frame.

+1 then make a tool box to fit between the bed and the cab.
