1992 Ranger To 1993 Explorer Swap Help?

I have a 1992 Ranger. I picked up a 1993 explorer for $150 bucks that
has been burned on the inside nothing else was hurt. The question i have
is will the body from my n 1992 ranger fit on the explorer frame. If anyone has
done this I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me. The exlplorer has the 4.0 and the ranger has 2.3 both manual. The explorer is also 4x4 and had push button on dash. Can this be fitted for manual operation?

Anything can be done w a little fabrication. People have been puttin cabbs on B2 frames for awhile. Don't see why not. The four wheel drive will have to stay push button unless u put in an actual manual t case. good news is, everything should just plug in. U'll need the harness off the explorer. Hopefully that didn't get burnt.

The front will fit, but the rear of the explorer is a little wider than the ranger. Instead of leafs being on the outside of the rails, they are directly under, and the leafs are the same width apart on both trucks - if that gives you any idea on width. You won't be able to fit a stock bed anyways, so it doesn't really matter that much. Just build a wood bed for it!

everything inside the cab is toast, but everything under the hood and cab is fine. Do I need the harness inside the cab or will the ranger harness work?

Thye harness that plugs into the fuse box underneath the brake booster, the computer and the plug that goes to the inetria switch(very important).

The harness that comes through the firewall is good on the engine bay side. On the cab side it is toasted. Not sure about the inertia switch plug. Where is it located? The computer is under the hood right? That is what my chilton manual says. Is this correct. Got to looking at the wheel bases tonight and the ranger is quit a bit longer. I have an extended cab 92 ranger. The explorer is a 2 door sport. Fabrication is not a problem if I can figure out what I need to do. The problem I have is this is my daily driver and can't have alot of down time so want to have all my ducks in a row before I start. Thanks for all the help you guys can give me. A friend of mine suggested tonight that we stretch the frame to acomadate the longer wheel base. I am not sure that is such a good Idea. What do you guys think?

The computer is under the passengers side kick panel.
I'm currently working on putting an '84 Ranger cab on a '91 2 door Ex chassis but in your case it's probably better to just pull the d35 and front crossmember from the Ex frame and put it in your Ranger frame.

That was the conclusion I came to this weekend after looking it over a little closer. I am also going to try to find a dash and wiring from another explorer to go in the ranger. I think I will need this to keep the push button 4wd and also the computer for the 4.0
