I saw the pictures of guys cb installations. im sorry, they were terrible. i wanted to put a cobra 29 ltd in my 1999 ranger. after several months of trying to figure out how to mount one i decided to go ahead and get the radio then see where it fits. i didnt want to cut any of my interior so i ran the co-ax through the drain plug in the passenger side to the transmission hump where seemed like my only choice. as i was going to mountt the bracket to the side of the x-mission i found that i couldnt because of the center console. the half inch thick carpet is even with it. i couldnt mount it on the side of the plastic console because its slightly curved, so i got the idea to put about a one inch spacer between the bracket and the floor panel beside the x-mission and screw in some long self tapping screws. you can cut two peices of pipe or use several washers or whatever and it looks ok. i thought the inserts even look crappy. i couldnt cut on my truck like that. i hope this helps someone. i cant beleive noone here thought about doing it that way. also, if you use a spacer you can tilt it toward you. keep on truckin, dan.

I mounted mine to the back of the armrest console. Although I think that only works with sport buckets.

I mounted mine on the ash tray, just a couple of screws in it, and it wouldn't be hard to replace if you needed to. And I just ran the wires underneath the cupholders, which are under the ash tray, under the floor mats, and underneath the trim on the edge of the doors, and then I just ran the cable out the back of the quad door. The door still closes while not putting much pressure on the cable. Then up the bed, underneath the tool box, to my antennas.

I mounted my CB right in the dash of my Ranger. I'm looking to see if I have any pics now, but I might have to just snap a new one tomorrow and post it up... it came out pretty neat and very little cutting involved. Just had to trim off a piece of one lip on the radio surround, a little careful cutting of the piece that holds the aftermarket radio in, and hack a hole in the side of the CB to mount an audio out jack.

I mounted mine above my rear view mirror. I made a bracket and ran it across from each of the sun visor mounts. Then ran the wiring through my headliner and down my A pillar, through my fender and to the battery. I ran the coax through my headliner the the back corner of the door, then up and across to the center of the roof (It's a magnetic mount antenna obviously). Then I mounted a PA speaker behind my front bumper, ran the speaker wire up through my grill over through the fender, up my A-pillar and through my headliner to my radio. Overall I'd say it's a pretty clean mount. It even doubles as a small shelf for my binoculars.

Sorry, no pics of it though.
