Default Brake light / Blinkers

So my wife drove my truck to work today while I worked on her taurus, so she gets off work gets in the truck and heads to mcdonalds for her mocha frappe and my iced vanilla coffee before heading home and then she calls me and says the BRAKE light is on, I asked her how the pedal felt and she said fine and I said I will have a look when she gets home and then we hung up, then she calls back and said the ( BLINKERS ) are not working and I said hmmm maybe it's a fuse or something screwy with the electrical.

So she gets home and shuts off the truck and comes inside the house, then I get my keys and start my truck and the brake light is NOT on and the blinkers are working just fine, I could NOT duplicate the two issues she said were taking place.

Any ideas?

you didn't indicate the amount of car intelligence your wife has. she might have left the parking brake on a little bit, or the switch could have gotten stuck.

have you checked the level of the brake fluid?

We don't use the emergency brake ever, the brake fluid is up to the correct level and the undercarriage is bone dry every where/no leaks.
