I can't find the total advance needed in the 2.8 with the pinto dist. Initial timing would help to(without vacuum line hooked up). Its running at 8*btdc right now. Just want to get it dialed in before I break in the engine.
when in doubt check the tech library, jim has updated the engine info and there is a lot of essential info on our little 2.8l engines.i'm not far behind w/duraspark,i'm doing research now and trying to save money.
I have mine set at 15 degrees, it can be kinda hard to start when it is warmed up (harder than it was with the feedback stuff) I am going to change it to 10 degrees and see if that helps.
small ranger, what I was asking was about your total timing...Initial plus advance in distributor equals total advance at 2500-3000 rpm's ?? It should be 35-38 degrees or so..
