I have a 302 motor, that i want to put in my 94 ranger it came from a mustang but the alternator on my 4.0 has a different plug on it than the one that came on the 85 mustang motor, and it also bolts up differently where can i get an alternator that is a 2 bolt swing mount that will have my plug on it to plug into my factory wiring?

And my next question is I would like to keep the a/c compressor but the current 302 motor i built for my previous mustang doesnt have an a/c bracket, what bracket do i need in order to bolt my a/c compressor on the 302, or do any of the stock brackets off the 4.0 work on the 302?

I used an alternator from a '93-ish Taurus. It was a good deal in my local classifieds, new, 130 amp, and plugged right in. My donor car had a giant 9"Alt, with external regulator, so I couldn't use that.

You could try that option.
For AC, you could use the AC/PS bracket off a Mustang ('87-'93, for example). Mine originaly had an AC/PS bracket that was different from the Mustang ('92 Lincoln Mark VII LSC), so there should be many options. Your stock PS pump should would with most anything.

You can kinda see the ac/ps brackets. They don't use the big Mushroom-piece the Mustang does for the PS.

Here's my alt. the bracket is a Fox Mustang bracket, with the tensioner cut off (Because it was missing from the bracket, and was ugly anyway...)

My truck no longer has AC or the smog pump. I just did not feel like making room for the ac condensor. Another option for you is using the front accessories and brackets from an Explorer 5.0. This uses the same alt as your stock Ranger, but they are much shorter than a fox Mustang(accessories closer to motor) and you can leave the rad and ac condensor in the stock location.
A 2001 Explorer for reference:

Sorry, I should have known that. I didn't really look at any of my 4.0 brackets, but if you want to keep the Ranger compressor, I guess the Ex brackets may be your only option.

is a 5.0 explorer a/c bracket going to work with my 94 ranger compressor if so what years will work?....but from the picture it looks like the power steering pump is totally different,so then i'll need something for that.....

The ps pump on the Ex has a remote resevoir...

I guess I you'd need the pump, too.
Looks like it may be easier to get a different AC compressor.

yea does anyone know which one will bolt up to my factory lines and what vehicle do i get it from?............ This is the only thing holding me up to put my motor in, its easier to work on it on an engine stand.

was told an a/c-p/s bracket from a 94 f150 with a 302 will work the compressor is the same except the pulley and clutch, but i just need the bracket....

got an ac/ps bracket off a 94 f150 compressor is the same and bolts to 302 but may need to change a/c lines to miss valve cover, picked up a trans dapt oil filter relocator, gonna put motor i today and hopefully get tranny set in to measure for cross member.

Let us know how it works out for you, if you can, take some pics and do a build thread...
