Default 1980 PowerWagon

I just thought I would share some pics of my 80 Powerwagon with you all. I paid 1100 bucks for it. It has a 318 with a 4 speed and it is 4 wheel drive. Everything electrical worked on this truck, even the factory radio. This truck had 82000 original miles when I got it.

Looks GOOD for a 30yr old truck!!!

318 is a lil' motor for it bein 4x4, I'd be lookin for a 360, 383, 400, or 440 as far as POWER WAGON goes...

I've had two PowerWagons, both 1976 D200's. They were...well, all I can say is ... beasts. They were powerful enough for anything I ever wanted to do. But alas, they were physically too big for me... I'm a little guy and looked like a midget sitting in them. I finally sold them and opted for something more my size... a '93 Ranger. Only complaint was the PowerWagons couldn't go past a gas station without stopping.

Meh, it's not a "real" power wagon, but still pretty nice considering the year and low miles. Good find!

Those were definately pathetic years for Detroit iron.

A 1974 440 was a 220hp 345ft# motor. A 2010 415cid V10 is a 362hp, 457ft# motor, for comparison, while being 25cid smaller.

A more direct compare would be a 383 and a new 6.2 Ford gasser--almost identical displacement. '71 383 4V 250hp/325ft#---'11 6.2 Ford 385hp/405ft#

I love them old trucks, but I don't like the powerplants. A 5.7 Hemi in that much lighter old truck would be a bruiser.
