Default getting out the eclip

Have to change the u joints in dana 28. What is the secret to gettting out the e-clip out of the passenger stub axle. I dissamled one on a parts truck and wow I could not figure out how to do it while the pumpkin was on the jack. Had to do some very creative wrestling to get pumpkin and axle out and onto the ground and even on the bench it was a pain to get out the eclip
I have to now do it on my daily driver truck any tips for this part of the surgery are appreciated

I plan to do the eclip elimantor when resassembling

I must be missing something simple and the first ones always take the longest

Nothing special to it. I just use a hooked pick to pull it off of the groove in the end of the axle shaft.

My problem is getting my arm inside to find and feel the eclip does not seem to be much room to get into there
do you drop the pumpkin to the ground before pulling the eclip?
