Got a cobra 148 w/turner road king mike. 5 pin . Mike is shorted out. Sometimes it works /then dont ?Cant find one. Need a new one or need fixed. Any ideas ? Thanks

electronics geek who wants to make a few bucks? friend who has a favorite beverage and knows how to use soldering iron and ohm meter?
it appears (from your comment) that the mike has a broken wire in the system (probably at the plug or pc board end).
Possibly a crack in the solder of the CB. Reflow work.

Yeah, sounds like the plug may need rewiring (does it cut in & out when you wiggle the cord right there?)

Road Kings are nice but the Astatic Mic are the way to go. IMHO...

The Red Devil is a pwr mic with Noise Canceling capability.

I can shake the mic. an It works sometimes sometimes not Ill take it apart. See wtf. cant hurt it. well maybe gotta be a bad wire. An yes Astatic is great mic. Ive had my for about 9 yrs or so in use everyday. I trruck Logs now dont get by any cb shops anymore. Got a Pilot about 70 mi. away. They have alot of cb junk. Scrambler82 just checked out link gonna do that Thanks alot.
