Default Cam syncro question

I know the cam syncro seems to be an issue on the 3.0's but what about in the 4.0s? Do they have the same issues? I should have asked when I had the engine apart because it would have been so easy to replace but I thought i'd ask. It's a 4.0 OHV...

What's a cam synchro? All I know is that if you have a SOHC 4.0, don't muck with the sprockets or you'll be really screwed.

Camshaft synchronizer (sp?). It basically replaces the distributor. It's a common item on the 3.0's. There are quite a few threads in the 3.0 section about it and i've found quite a bit of information about it on other websites. I searched the 4.0 section but turned up nothing about anyone replacing it. I was wondering if it is a common item on 4.0's too.

Here's an example:http://www.therangerstation.com/foru...ght=Cam+syncro
Found this on RPS also...http://www.rangerpowersports.com/for...d.php?t=227208

Maybe we need more info on the 4.0 OHV?
