heat sucks

There was a problem w/ the a/c earlier this summer and the dealer replaced a "wire" costing $200. Now the trucks heat takes forever to kick in and if you are stopped or parked, the heat isn't hot, even once the engines warmed up. Any ideas???

might try replacing the t stat. it might be stuck open.

Also to get help we need to know year, model, engine etc. of your truck.

Would the Tstat get stuck at 38K miles, isn't that a little soon?

they can fail anytime,cheap to replace.

My B2 was that way, it was never hot in the winter, only luke warm at best.

I installed a mechanical temp guage and realized it never went past 150 degrees. Replaced the t-stat and all is well.

OK, guess I'll do the tstat, I think it's under $10 anyway, do I need a gasket w/ it?

Weird, I went to Advance Auto and Auto Zone today and neither one carried the tstat. Autozone did have the gasket but it was $14.99 WTF?! I thought the tstat would be less than $10 and the gasket maybe $2... Anyone have a P/N I can get them from the dealership? What temp tstat do you recommend also?

Dang, $19 for a tstat from a cheap place online, at the stealership it was $150 and change b/c it came w/ the housing and wires??? Why is this tstat so expensive compared to others I've bought ~ $7...
