I was thinking about getting a underdrive pulley kit. Is the end resolute really worth it?

Totally worth it! I got mine a month or 2 ago and love them! Alot more pep and im getting an extra 2mpg! Even if it was just the extra 2mpg i would be willing to do it again. My gas mileage did go down the first tank cause i was having to much fun with the added power. :)

YES! Just remember to get the OVERDRIVE alternator pulley and the proper belt to use that with the UNDERDRIVE crank pulley.

This is the set I was looking at getting.

If you know where to get it cheaper let me know please.
I really doubt you will find it cheaper. I'm not even sure you can find it anywhere else at all. (?) Well actually I have seen it cheaper once. It was in the "closeout" bin as a dinged/nicked customer return. But I don't think there are too many other stores selling Rogue parts and there isn't much of a markup so finding a new one at a discount is a long shot.

Do it--you won't regret it. :icon_cheers:

I was just looking through this site and it is awsome, never heard of or seen this site before! The 4.0 pulley kits are spendy though, twice as much as the 3.0! The site is still cool as hell being that it is a ranger site!

Does the rad need to be removed to install the new crank pulley?

The 4.0L ones are pricier because I believe they have the toothed ring for the crank position sensor built-in. The 3.0L crank pulley is much simpler to manufacture.

To install, you do not need to remove the radiator. I did remove the fan and fan shroud though. Not sure if it's necessary for replacing just the crank pulley and alt pulley, but I was replacing the tensioner and idler pulleys as well so I needed the fan out of the way.

I have been thinking about getting a set of these. They are way cheaper than I expected and the power gain is pretty substantial, few hours of work for that much gain is worth 200 bucks.

Underdrive pulleys are a must on any 3.0 powered truck.

Go with the crank pulley only, the alternator pulley isn't needed IMO. Nothing extra needs to be removed to install the crank pulley, just swap pulleys and the belt and be done.

I installed one on my truck less than 30 days after I bought the truck.

I think people running amps and large stereos should get the Alt pulley to bump the alternator back up at idle at least.

Does the alt pulley actually do this though, mine works just fine and I am pushing 1500 watts.
