Well I think my trans is gonna need repairs very soon. Im finding it very difficult to shift into first and reverse out of nuetral. Ive always been told just put the clutch in and let the stick go into the gear itself. Not to push it hard or try to force it. Right now I cant even force it. Im sometimes having to shift into like 3rd gear and then to first but a lot of the time it just doesnt wanna go into first and reverse. All the other gears shift fine. Is it time for a new trans?

i take it all the other gears work because you are driving when using them,. if so, the reason 1st and reverse doesnt work, is because you're not moving. it shouldnt be the trans. probably the slave or master cylinder is bad or you ave air in the line. tyr bleeding it first. if that doesnt work replace the slave, and then the master

even when I downshift from 2nd to first it does the same thing. Doesnt wanna be in first at all. Im literally pushing as hard as I can and slamming it untill it decides it wants to go in.

does it go in fine with motor off?if its only bad with motor running, you have a clutch /hydraulic system problem

well today I noticed that when I push the clutch to the floor and shift it into first, it started to move. In nuetral it just sat there but once in gear and pedal to the ground in first gear over a few seconds it started to move. I have a new clutch in there, I rebled everything and its been working great up untill recently. I think the problem is in with the clutch or hydrolics.

thats what ive been trying to tell you...lol

well any idea's how to fix this? New clutch, new peice in the trans. Everything was bleed properly. No air in the lines. Fluid is full. Were can I start looking now?

well if it worked before you put a clutch in it, id have to suspect theres still air in the lines. and yes these can be a bitch to get bled all the way. if not theres a master cylinder that could be bad also

I guess for now il just try and rebleed it all again. If that still doesnt work il just go ahead and replace the line, master, and everything else. Its only 150 and id have a brand new clutch system.

I rebled it all and drove around the block and it shifted a ton better now. It went into the gears nicely, no forcing it. Hopefully its good to go now. 3rd times a charm i guess

OK well I went to a shop yesterday and had them rebleed it. Worked awesome for all of yesterday and the first run this morning. Now its doing the same thing again. Its like grinding into reverse. Im starting to have to slam it back into first gear and reverse again. Its a brand new clutch and slave cylinder. Only thing I know is wrong with my clutch system is the white ring on the end of the line that plugs into the trans is cracked and doesnt work properly. Could that be something to do with it? Or how about my master cylinder leaking? There isnt any fluid dripping anywere and its all dry. Im about to just buy a new master cylinder kit for my clutch. Comes with new line, master, reservoir.

Yes, if it's leaking internally, there is no other place for it to do so.

Note that leaks often improve (momentarily) by pumping the clutch, and worsen substantially if you keep the pedal down longer.

If it's REALLY different in gears besides 1st and Rev (aside from the fact that you always shift into those gears and no others at a dead stop), then that points to a transmission problem, possibly incorrect fluid and possibly worn blocking rings.

Well when its finally in gear driving I can shift in to 2,3,4 99% of the time without any hesitation. It goes into those gears smoothly most of the time. Sometimes when trying to go into first or reverse it just wont go. Move the shifter around and nothing. When that happens its even hard to put it into the other gears at a stop. When I bled the clutch about a 2 weeks ago everything worked great for like 2-3 days. Then the same stuff started happening. Wedesnday I had a shop bleed it figuring there was still air in the system. Worked great till yesterday. Later in the day there was a few moments were it didnt want to shift again. Now this morning I start it up and everything is working fine again. Shifted really nice into all the gears. Now im confused about what could be the problem again because at this moment its working again lol.

Also one thing I noticed today was I looked in the engine bay and notice that they did overfill the reservoir and I notice fluid all around the outside of it and down the line, and some on the inner fender. Could to much fluid be causing a problem?
