Hey Guys...My swap is mostly complete, runs and drives just need to button up a few things. Very pleased with the way it drives and the power of the Cummins is great.

1988 Ranger, Cummins 4BT, 5 speed M5R2, BW1356, Dana 44's, 4.89, Detroits, chrome moly shafts, high steer, 38.5 Boggers.

looks sweet... but i would of fixed the pinion angle on the rear...

Nice truck man, I want to swap one into my Ranger when it goes. How hard was it to do?

Thanks guys...the rear pinion will be addressed next weekend. It wasn't that tough, easier than a couple v8 swaps that I've done.

None really, I did plate the outsides of both frame rails, added the front crossmember for the SAS and built a custom rear crossmember for the trans.

Nice! I'm just curious how well that tranny will hold up..

Actually its a pretty common tranny for this swap as the gearing is perfect for a diesel and reports are that it holds up just fine. Most of the swaps I've seen it used in are fullsize trucks, so with the ranger being smaller and me not beating the crap out if it it should hold up fine.

Can I see some more pics of the underside for future reference if I ever do come across one I want to swap in? I've seen a 2wd with a 5.9 cummins on YouTube. The other 4th gen i've seen was with a 4BT. I'm sure you've seen it, the one the high school kid built with his dad.

Thanks guys...the rear pinion will be addressed next weekend.

Thank god. I was thinking ooooohhhh sexy clean truck... then that hit me and all I could see was u-joint death :shok:
and then I looked at the engine and when back to ooooohhhhh sexy... :icon_cheers:

Beautiful truck, ya gonna beat on it now?

nice truck what did those dana 44's come out of and is that 6 lugs i see

That is beautiful! Are you going to put those Boggers to good use?

I also think it would look even sicker with a flapper on the stack and if you added cut out fender flares, or even flares for like an early Bronco. Just a though. Perhaps someone in the photoshop thread could add the mods to it to see if you like them.

I'm not usually a diesel fan but I like it, only because its in a ranger though! lol. I bet she makes gobs of torque.
